Liga Spunde is a recent graduate of master’s degree at Art Academy of Latvia Visual Communication department. Along studying at Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Belgium she has participated in various projects and group exhibitions in Latvia, Germany, France and Belgium. Artists’s main source of inspiration and influence comes from events, relationships and observations of absurd and uncanny in day to day life. It is the mundane situations that can be stripped back to the subjective meaning mainly determined by Liga herself where here interest lies. Liga’s work is an extremely subjective retelling of a story that invites the spectator to question the objective and subjective truth. Along using such mediums as photography and video, installation is a fundamental element in bringing the pieces of the story together.
